I have not worked on this blog in years. I leave it up because it documents history. Some of my comments are outdated and not accurate. I only posted the stories that I was told. That is why I left the comments sections on each bar open so people could chime in with their thoughts/opinions. There still are a lot of bars I could list that I never got around to I recognize. The Gold Coast is closed, what is left? The gay bar is dead but for a few. I have discovered an alternative to the gay bar, the lgbtq+ campground. Gay campgrounds are much like the mature gay bars, you include a sense of society and you can watch your friends every weekend. My favorite is Campit  in Saugatuck, MI. (Actually it is in Fennville)

A neighbor had told Jimmy's mother that Jimmy had been seen dressed as a teen going into a local gay block called The Hayloft. When his mother told this to Jimmy at dwelling, he told her to sit at the kitchen table and wait while he left the room. When he reappeared, he was in drag. His mother later told a friend of Candy's that "I knew then that I couldn't cease Jimmy. Candy was just too pretty and talented." -

After attending Catholic schools, Kikel entered St. John?s University in Queens, NY in On the outside, he was a conventional student majoring in English. He connected a fraternity and had a miss friend. But on weekend nights, he frequented gay bars in nearby Jackson Heights and on Long Island. "I love a challenge and I also believe in investing in the city with real estate," McCants says. "You're taking a risk with any business. We don't have anything on the east side and I'm actually from the east side, so I thought it would be nice to do something other and offer us something on the other side of town because we have a lot of people that frequent clubs from the ar
