You don't find "gay friendly" places in towns of less than 2, What you find is places where mostly no one cares. Will you be the only gay person there? Maybe, maybe not. If you are talking about place to join other gay people: not much luck in very small towns.
Given the mix of people in the Cave Junction area, you may well run into the odd anti-gay type.
